The zen mayfly
lives in the now.
It is all he has.

Zen Rabbit

The zen rabbit
does not wriggle his nose
just widens his nostrils
as the air passes through.

For decades JoAnn Chang has been a spirited presence in the Milwaukee poetry community, reading her poems at open mics, poetry marathons, the Wave Bus Tour, and Poets Monday.  She frequently adds to her reading with lively performances of songs.  For the past 17 years she has edited The Poet's Monday Grab Bag. The above poems are from her Zen Collection.


The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case to determine if Wisconsin Republicans’ redistricting maps are too partisan.
