Palm Tavern
2989 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
744-0393

Since opening earlier this decade with little fanfare, the Palm Tavern has become a low-key Bay View nightspot, known for its inconspicuous blink-and-miss-it location, a dark yet welcoming interior decorated with music posters and thrift-store seating and a hip selection of recorded music. Owner Bruno Johnson knows a few things about beer and our readers have been eager pupils. The Palm offers some 210 brews from around the world, 90 of them from Belgium. It is a full-service bar, however, if you’d rather sip a vodka tonic and drink up the hipster ambiance. (D.L.)

Runners-up: Von Trier, Landmark 1850 Inn

Poll

The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case to determine if Wisconsin Republicans’ redistricting maps are too partisan. Do you believe the U.S. Supreme Court will order Wisconsin to redraw our legislative maps so the majority of legislative districts are competitive and voters will actually have a real choice between a Democrat and Republican?
