Discovery World
500 N. Harbor Drive

Though some residents still seem unsure of what awaits them at Discovery World, the majority of our readers are familiar enough with its exciting exhibits to vote it Milwaukee’s No. 1 attraction for children. Without doubt, much of its appeal comes from a calming, sun-drenched interior that offers expansive views of the lake. And at least part of it is due to the aquarium that exhibits both freshwater and saltwater fish that swim beneath you and over you. A touch tank allows you to get up close and personal with some of the friendliest aquatic species. Some of the technology exhibits will be most appreciated by adults and older children, but there’s still plenty to discover for a younger age group, including a double-masted schooner they’re free to explore at their will.
