The influence of African culture on Latino art cannot be ignored, and Latino Arts explores the dynamic by presenting the band Mango Blue. Mango incorporates jazz, R&B and funk through a layer of traditional Afro-Latin percussion. The band includes lead vocalist Alex Alvear, notable for his dance music, and virtuoso Gonzalo Grau. Mango Blue boasts a wide instrumental component, including bongo, alto and tenor sax. Mango has created acclaimed albums exhibiting exhilarating music with social consciousness.
