It makes sense that a band called Fun. would craft a party anthem as successful as “We Are Young.” The song spread like wildfire throughout 2012, eventually earning the prestigious Song of the Year award at the 2013 Grammy Awards and establishing the group as one of the biggest breakout acts of the year. The song also received a boost from “Glee,” which included a memorable performance of the hit in the show’s third season. The group’s follow-up single “Some Nights,” from the album of the same name, took a more melodramatic lyrical approach, coming off like a pop music take on Les Misérables, especially in its military-inspired video. Like most of the New York band’s work, the song combines self-deprecating lyrics with an upbeat, major-key tune and layered vocals.

For this performance, Fun. will be supported by two like-minded groups—Walk the Moon and Family of the Year—who each favor the same style of big, sing-along indie-pop that Fun. epitomizes. (Melanie Brylow)

Would white supremacists, neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan pose the same threat they do now if a mainstream Republican were president instead of Donald Trump?
