The husband of superstar singer Faith Hill, country musician Tim McGraw recently found himself linked to yet another enormously successful female performer: Taylor Swift. Swift’s debut single, from her 2006 eponymous album, was named after McGraw—a development that has undoubtedly helped introduce the enduring country music veteran to a slew of new ears.

Not that McGraw really needed the help. Few artists of any genre can match the string of chart-topping albums that McGraw produced during the 1990s. Records such as Not a Moment Too Soon (1994), All I Want (1995), Everywhere (1997) and A Place in the Sun (1999) all reached number one on the country music charts, with A Place in Sun reaching the top of the pop charts as well.

McGraw’s stunning run of successes has continued into the new millennium. 2004’s Live Like You Were Dying and 2007’s Let It Go showed that McGraw remained relevant within the ever-changing world of country music. 2013 saw the release of McGraw’s latest album (on his new record label, Big Machine Records), the well-received Two Lanes of Freedom.
