NomadicLIMBS confirms its status as a new Milwaukee contemporary dance company with “defYning perceptions,” its second annual summer concert. The collective offers professional dancers from around the country a summer residency in Milwaukee with a mission to explore—as Founding Artistic Director Thom Dancy puts it—the “why nots” of dance. Last summer’s exciting premiere was “to see if there’s a reason for this,” Dancy said. There is. This new show includes a premiere by Milwaukee Ballet’s Isaac Sharratt and revivals of works by Dancy, Cheyla Clawson and Justin Leaf made with companies in Grand Rapids, Mich., Wichita, Kan., and Minneapolis, respectively. Strongly recommended.
