Don’t let the fact that Canada’s Theory of a Deadman was the first band to sign with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger’s 604 Records way back in 2001 deter you from this show. The potent quartet represents one of the finer post-grunge/modern hard rock bands on the scene. Brash, loud and radio-ready anthems frame lyrics laced with sex, references to relationships good and bad and the thrill of living life to the fullest. Theory of a Deadman also has a knack for nabbing some of its brothers in music from more famous bands—including Shinedown’s Brent Smith, Daughtry’s Chris Daughtry and Kroeger—to lend a writing hand or a guest vocal. Theory of a Deadman is still touring in support of The Truth Is..., which was released two years ago.

Black Stone Cherry serves as a near-perfect opening act, with its Kentucky-fried brand of heavy Southern rock. And like Theory of a Deadman, Black Stone Cherry’s most recent album, Between the Devil & The Deep Blue Sea, was released in 2011.
