At 71, the singer, guitarist and fiddler Charlie Daniels still has what it takes to get the crowd moving, especially when he plays the well-known crowd pleaser “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” He’s since squandered some of his cache, though, by recording the offensive, post-9/11 Arab-bashing anthem “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s a Flag,” the lyrics of which are far too incendiary and backward to reprint here. Hopefully Daniels will set aside his xenophobic politics when he does a 7:30 p.m. show at the Wisconsin State Fair’s Main Stage, supported by .38 Special and Shooter Jennings.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case to determine if Wisconsin Republicans’ redistricting maps are too partisan. Do you believe the U.S. Supreme Court will order Wisconsin to redraw our legislative maps so the majority of legislative districts are competitive and voters will actually have a real choice between a Democrat and Republican?
