The crowds were unbelievable....complete safety hazard. witnessed a fight where no security even intervened....was almost trampled as people started running to get out of the way...no way to walk through crowd..people would not move had to push your way....why on earth would they book a rap concert smack dab in the middle of the festival grounds - asking for trouble!!!!!

Where are the security and police to stop all the drug use? I would bet 1/3 of the crowd was smoking pot all night long. If they snuck it in, shame on the police and security for not noticing. And were is the security and police walking the grounds? I mean it was so obvious that pot was being used and not one officer to witness and arrest. Almost like Milwaukee County and Summerfest invited the use of drugs on the grounds. Sad part is, this will turn into another festival that only thugs and pot users will go to because the average Summerfest goer has had enough and will not patronize the grounds again...including my family and I.

Summerfest, WAKE UP and get a handle on the people ruining the event before it is too late.

Obviously you haven't smoked pot...it has the complete opposite effect. For most "stoners" ESPECIALLY at a concert..fighting, pushing, and intimidating people is the furthest thing from their mind. It is the DRINKERS..either newbies (21) or underage, and overcrowding that creates these "powder keg" situations. I am an "older" drinker so I have no bias against drinking. I no longer smoke, but I know from experience that pot is not as big a problem as you seem to believe.

I will never go back to summerfest after the 5th c...

I will never go back to summerfest after the 5th crowd, no way to move , i was being pushed and shoved and swore at. Someone threatened to hit me. There where little kids in strollers being mobbed and pushed. You could not walk and if someone would have fallen they would have been trampled to death. Add the intense heat and drunken people.....

FYI. Paul Rodgers is one of the most talented blues/rock vocalists alive today much more talented then than the gangster Wiz. He was playing at Miller since he has been a member of several bands including Free, Bad Company, The Firm to name a few which have several hits from the 70s and early 80s..attracting a middle-aged classic rock fans.

I rarely attend Summerfest during the day when the benches are probably useful, but couldn't removing them help solve the crowd conjestion later at night? There's so much unused space near the stage and those standing on the benches obstruct many people's views behind them. Plus, I think Summerfest-goers in general could use the added "exercise" of staying on one's feet for more than 20 minutes.

a big reason for the benches is to control the crowd. It keeps mosh pits or major movement to a minimum. As far as the comment about standing for 20 minutes that is simply misguided because i have yet to see people sit on them later in the day when the bands get bigger...

I knew there would be a big crowd for this show but I was still surprised by how packed it was. I see how things could have gone out of control, but it was a great concert.
