This week on The Disclaimer, WMSE's weekly cultural talk show with Ryan Schleicher, Milwaukee Record editor Matt Wild and I, in the wake of this month's reveal that the historic Bay View bar At Random is for sale, we're discussing how the neighborhood has changed over the years, and how it welcomes (or doesn't welcome) development. More than most neighborhoods, it seems, Bay View has had a love/hate relationship with change, and certain proposals have had a way of bringing out the worst in the neighborhood. We discuss some of those incidents and compare how Bay View differs in this regard from the East Side and Riverwest, both of which have their own very different attitudes toward development.
