The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announces a variety of holiday performances for the 2013 season. The holiday performances kick off with Canadian Brass Holiday on December 4, 2013, performing holiday songs in their signature style, led by Associate Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong. On December 6-8, 2013, Holiday Pops Spectacular takes the stage with guest conductor Stuart Chafetz, vocalist Mike Eldred, Milwaukee Symphony Chorus, Milwaukee Children’s Choir, Milwaukee Youth Chorale, and Milwaukee Handbell Ensemble in a performance filled with seasonal favorites, sing-alongs, and holiday tunes. On December 7, 2013, the MSO presents a Joan Steele Stein Family Concert, The Snowman – Film with Orchestra, which will screen the classic animated film with the original score performed live and offer pre-concert family activities. In venues around the city, the orchestra performs Messiah on December 18-22, featuring acclaimed guest soloists with conductor Christopher Seaman in this holiday tradition. Finally, ring in the New Year with the MSO and guest conductor John Mauceri in a special New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31, 2013, complete with a champagne toast for all in attendance.
