Annual New Members Show

401 Main St., Racine, WI, 53403

Artists Gallery Welcomes Eight New Members with First Friday Event

Eight new members joined Artists Gallery and the gallery will hold its annual March new members show highlighting the work for these artists.  The gallery will have a reception open to the public on March 7th to welcome the new artists and to display their work. The show runs through March.

“We had a very successful new member drive in January,” explained Artists Gallery Director Tom Budzinski.  “There were many area artists who applied for membership and our jurying committee selected the best artists whose work fits our gallery. It really shows how many talented artists there are in and around Racine.”

Most artists that apply for membership are not accepted. Not only must the work be of high quality, but because the Artists Gallery is a cooperative all members must be willing to work in the gallery. The work must also be sellable to the clientele that frequent the gallery.

The eight new artists that have been accepted in the last 12 months are Sarah K Andersen (acrylics & watercolors), Judy Kabriel (jewelry and fiber), Aura Lesnjak (watercolors), Marilu McCartney (ink drawings with watercolor), Jim Meyer (wood furniture), Carlotta Miller (watercolors), Nicholas Omdahl (fused glass jewelry and tableware), and Judith Pannozo (photography). More information on these artists and samples of their work can be found on the gallery’s web site.

Artists Gallery celebrates its 16th year.  The gallery, located at 401 Main Street in downtown Racine, is open Wednesday through Saturday 11-5pm and Sunday from 1-4pm. The gallery is open on First Fridays and Gallery Nights from 11am to 9pm with a reception starting at 6pm.
