Annual Saint Casimir Church Festival

Sunday April 27 2014 is the date for Riverwest's  annual Saint Casimir Church Festival
which will run from  10:30 AM - 6:30 PM and be held one block west of the
church at historic Polish Falcon Hall, 801 East Clarke Street,  one of the oldest
bowling alleys in America. Parishioner-made Polish dinners and pastries will be
available throughout the day along with plenty of piwa (beer) from Lakefront
Brewery. music will be provided beginning at Noon by Trio D'Amour, (Accordion.
Mandolin and Spanish Guitar). From 2:15 - 4:15 an open mic session will feature
music from other neighborhood musicians. The Bluegrass Allstars will play from
4:30 - 6:30. In honor of the values that marked Casimir's life, both bands will
play to the child in all of us. There will be polkas and fiddle tunes and maybe a
Polish song or two. ("Daily Daily Sing to Mary", the melody of which may date
to the mid 1100's, was reportedly a favorite of Casimir's) It'll be a duze wieczorek.
