Hansberry-Sands Theatre Company presents: Steal Away
The Hansberry-Sands Theatre Company (HSTC) closes its 33rd season with the crowd pleaser STEAL AWAY, written by Ramona King and directed by HSTC Artistic Director AbNey. The folktale based work running for two consecutive weekends at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts – Vogel Hall, 123 E. State Street, opens May 2 and closes on Mother’s Day, May 11. The drama/comedy features Patricia Bridges, Tina Machele Brown, Mary “Liz” Coleman, Azeeza Islam, debrah neal, and Portia Stinson.
Epitomizing the essence of sisterhood, strength and determination five women of abundant faith are challenged in meeting their ultimate goal of sending another great mind to college. As they move from “zero to ten” the friends let nothing stand in their way and mastermind the ultimate plan while taking on the savvy and persona of the 1940’s Dillinger gang.
“Steal Away delivers the perfect blend of danger, camaraderie, love and laughter.”
