IndependenceFirst seeks artists for October exhibition

IndependenceFirst is now accepting applications from professional or aspiring professional artists who have disabilities or whose work contains disability-related themes to be considered for inclusion in our October 2014 Juried Art Exhibition. The goal of the exhibition is to promote full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of our community, including making, exhibiting and viewing artwork in a professional setting. The artwork selected by a committee of local art professionals will be shown at IndependenceFirst throughout the month of October to coincide with Disability Awareness Month. There will also be a Gallery Night reception at IndependenceFirst on Friday, October 17, 2014 to coincide with the Historic Third Ward Association’s Gallery Night event.

Please share this information with any artists you know who may be interested. The application deadline is June 13, 2014. The application can be found online at http://www.independencefirst.org/Events/Community/IndependenceFirst-accepting-applications-for-Octob.
