The Girl Singer: A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney

7:30pm Sat, 2pm Sun
2519 Northwestern Ave., Racine, WI, 53404

The music of America’s sweetheart and foremost “girl singer” will be highlighted in two upcoming performances at the Racine Theatre Guild. “The Girl Singer: A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney” with Ellen Winters takes the stage Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, at 2519 Northwestern Avenue (Highway 38) in Racine.

From the beginning of her career as a teenaged lead singer with a touring big band to her Hollywood debut and beyond, Rosemary Clooney was one of America’s sweethearts. While her most notable role was in Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” Rosemary Clooney’s singing career spanned nearly 60 years.

Joining Ellen are area favorites Don Lobacz (of Four Guyz In Dinner Jackets), Sam Steffke (piano), Hal Miller (bass), Jim Ryan (drums), Peggy Peterson Ryan (vocals on Saturday), Chanel Le Meaux (vocals on Sunday).

“The Girl Singer: A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney” has performances at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (62 and older) and $10 for students (21 and younger). The RTG box office is open 12 to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 90 minutes prior to each curtain time through intermission at performances.

For reservations or further information, call 262-633-4218. Individual tickets may also be ordered online at www.racinetheatre.org; however, discounts cannot be applied to online orders. The Racine Theatre Guild is a nonprofit community (volunteer-based) theatre that offers a wide range of live entertainment and educational opportunities for all ages.
