Boulevard Theatre—which sold its Bay View location a year ago and now thrives as a travelling company performing at host locations throughout Milwaukee—concludes its 29th season with the Wisconsin premiere of Rx by Kate Fodor. This 90-minute play is a humorous satire on the modern Big Pharma industry in America and features the diverse, all-star local cast of Ericka Wade, Jason Will, Marilyn White, Tom Dillon, Joan End and Jaime Jastrab.
“The pharmaceutical farce Rx is an April shower of laughter,” says Boulevard founder and the show’s director, Mark Bucher. “Fodor’s talent enables her to adroitly weave together the strands of comedy and drama seamlessly. One moment you are laughing and the very next you are stilled by a heartfelt and genuine moment. Her writing is delicate, exceptionally fine, and showcases genuine and deep characterizations.”
Six Rx performances will take place at Plymouth Church (2717 E. Hampshire) between April 18-May 3. “Plymouth Church is a wonderful community resource and they do amazing things there,” says Bucher. For tickets to Rx, call 414-744-5757 or visit boulevardtheatre.com.
