The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center presents a couple of good reasons to take the kids slightly out of town this month as it plays host to a couple of kid-friendly musicals.
For two matinee performances only, the South Milwaukee PAC presents local actors ages 5 - 11 in a production of Disney's Cinderella KIDS. A pleasantly sanitized and abbreviated version of the classic folk tale put onstage by kids. It’s really, really cute if you don’t think about it too much. And try to focus on the fact that these are kids enjoying time on the stage for some of the first times in their lives. The show runs for 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. performances on Jul. 18.
Then a little later on, South Milwaukee Youth Theatre presents a production of Legally Blonde the Musical Jr. The musical itself is cute. Seeing it staged by kids should be all the more cuter. And the length of a junior musical could make the cuteness all the more palatable for a pleasant trip out of town.
