The Lynden Sculpture Garden is a whimsically beautiful place. Strange and beautiful sculptures rest in and around an idyllic space that feels halfway between Wisconsin and dream. It’s the prefect place to encounter some fairies.
This coming weekend, Milwaukee Opera Theatre uses the sculpture garden as the stage for an outdoor adaptation of Purcell’s 1692 semi-opera The Fairy-Queen. In and amongst the striking images will be 53 dances, 12 singers 6 instrumentalists and a pair of actors.
The show runs for two performances only: Jun 19 and 20. Both performances start at 7:00 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking. For advance ticket reservations, visit Brown Paper Tickets online.
