The Wizard of Oz has been through a lot in the past. The wholesome fantasy with all that darkness around the edges has been the subject of movies, best-selling fan fiction and at least one ridiculously large musical that will be waddling back through town soon.
This month, the West Allis Players pay tribute to the L. Frank Baum’s original work with a staging of the musical from the John Kane script that was originally adapted for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The West Allis Players’ staging of John Kane’s adaptation of The Wizard of Oz runs Jul. 17-26 at the West Allis Central Auditorium on 8516 W. Lincoln Ave. For more information, visit the West Allis Players online.
