The golden-age rap archivists at Dope Folks Records have cooked up a special mix for Milwaukee Day. Compiled by DJ Chris Schulist from a combination of 12-inch singles and 45s, the label's Illwaukee Represent mix condenses nearly a quarter century worth of Milwaukee hip-hop into a killer 80 minute set that touches not only on local hits by staples like Def Harmonic, The Rusty P's and Kid Millions, but also rarities by overlooked contributors to the scene like Rock La Flow and Bruthaman. It's a phenomenal mix, not only for Milwaukee music fans but also for anybody interested in rap's past.
You can stream it below, via Soundcloud, where you can also download it.
