Electronic music often gets likened to video-game music, but the latest Luxi EP quite literally is video-game music. The Milwaukee electro-pop producer’s new Glitch House EP is the soundtrack to a video game of the same name, a sumptuous 10-minute set that’s perfectly pitched to the game’s surrealist neon color palette. She programmed the eye-popping game in just four days for the 2018 Summer UE4 Game Jam, working around the theme "Well that escalated quickly..."
You can stream the EP below via Bandcamp, along with a teaser video for the game, and you can download the game through Luxi’s website. It’s incredibly immersive, and a tantalizing preview of Luxi’s next project: a sweeping “interactive album” and video game called Lost Letters that she plans to release in November. If she can whip up a game like Glitch House in just four days, it's daunting to imagine what she might have in store for that long-in-the-works project.
