17 year after releasing his breakthrough debut with Mos Def as Black Star, Talib Kweli remains one most visible and active rappers of the conscious rap movement. As is usually the case, the Brooklyn rapper has some new music in the pipeline for this year. Soon he’ll release Liberation 2, the sequel to his 2007 fan-favorite album with beat-maker Madlib, which he’ll follow with a proper studio album, Radio Silence, that should feature a wide assortment of producers and guests. First, though, he’ll play Milwaukee. The Turner Hall Ballroom announced today that Kweli will play his first-ever show at the venue on Thursday, July 9 as part of his “Midsummer Night’s Dream” tour.
General admission tickets are $20 in advance, $22.50 day of show and go on sale Friday, June 5 at noon.
