After releasing their debut album The PondHawks Have Landed in 2010, pop rock band The Pondhawks gathered international recognition, receiving plays on London radio stations for their retro sound reminiscent of ELO and The Beatles. Shortly after releasing their album, The Pondhawks also netted a victory in Chicago's WGN-TV “Battle of the Bands” for their song “Midnight Howl.” The Pondhawks will be joined tonight by Milwaukee indie-rock band Elusive Parallelograms.

Terrific IPO showcase yesterday at Linneman's. An interesting mix of music from bands who play original material. The one band that really stood out was The PondHawks. An incredible performance with music that resonates The Beatles, ELO, Moody Blues. Strong, tight and energetic band with a whole new sound that is a bit Alternative, PowerPop and retro. Wonderful hooks, harmonies and stage presence. Even a DJ from WBSD was there cheering them on. The band is from Chicago, but I hope they will be playing more gigs in Milwaukee.

I found this commentary to be interesting in language and content.I suspect a band spokesperson planted it here.In a nutshell ,the Pondhawks played a pleasant set.Nothing earthshaking.Kudos to them.
