The Los Angeles-based (and Midwest-bred) industrial metal group Static-X has spent the last couple years gracefully recovering from a rough patch. After lukewarm critical responses a few albums and persistent rumors of a break-up, in 2005 the group lost lead guitarist Tripp Eisen to an embarrassing underage sex scandal. The group rebounded with 2007’s Cannibal, a return-to-form that harks back to the heavy and simple sound of their best-selling debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip (that the band reunited with original guitarist Koichi Fukuda only helped them recapture their early dynamic), and this year’s similarly strong Cult of Static.

So our state deficit is just 3/4 of 1% of the state's (private) gross state output?
That does not sound like a hard thing to make up via a modest tax increase. Yet, we are determined to take away services, which is akin to raising taxes on the lower income user of those services, not on those higher income people who are the ones who really do have more "ability to pay".
I was listening to a Wisconsin Public Radio WHAD 90.7 FM (Thursday 3/3/2011 7:00 AM, Joy Cardin #110303B), it was about a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article published last weekend, on raising taxes slightly on wealthy Wisconsinites. anyone can listen to it free online, on www.wpr.org (note, of this obvious commercial free radio network, the "free tax money" it receives from the CPB is only about 7% of their budget. The vast majority of their operating funds is purely by donation)
The speaker stated that it still would have left these wealthy folk with a lower tax rate than the average state tax in the nation, and would easily make up this budget shortfall.
All the more reason that the true aim of Walker is to take battleground Wisconsin's electoral votes and turn them solidly red. Same thing is going on in Ohio, another battleground state.
If I were a national mover and shaker working from the red side, I would not waste my money on a state that is already voting red, or another state that is so blue I can't break it at a reasonable cost. That's why non-battleground money is going into battleground states. It's all about "Return On Investment".
