UWM Planetarium’s Haunted Horizons Show Series

Celebrate Spooky this fall with the Planetarium’s Friday Night Show Series, Haunted Horizons starting Friday, September 7 and running until October 26 with two back-to-back shows at 7:00-8:00 pm and 8:15-9:15 pm. Gather under the Planetarium dome for a sensory experience. The program will dive into events from the deep universe and explore the spooky reality of lost space crafts, ghostly particles, and other astronomical mysteries.    

Two showings will be offered each Friday night of the series. The 7:00 showing will be family-friendly while the later showing will be more appropriate for those ready for a thrill. Shows will be approximately an hour in duration including an indoor stargazing portion where audience members will have the opportunity to identify current constellations visible in an autumn night sky free of light pollution.

The planetarium is open to the public and although our programs are family friendly, they are not intended for children under 4 because they might find the darkness alarming.

About the UWM Planetarium 

The UWM Manfred Olson Planetarium is located on 1900 East Kenwood Boulevard in the Physics building on the corner of Kenwood Boulevard and Cramer Street as a center for astronomy education and appreciation with over 10,000 visitors annually, a variety of programs are available for the general public including AstroBreak and Friday Night Shows, as well as stargazing on select evenings throughout the year. What: Haunted Horizons- Our first Friday Night Show Series of the fall semester will be highlighting spooky occurrences from outer space and taking audiences on a sensory experience through the void.

Why: To get students and the community involved in the planetarium by offering inexpensive and quality programs to the public.                        

When: Fridays Sept. 7- Oct. 26 from 7:00-8:00 pm & 8:15-9:15 pm.
