OPENING
“A Bernstein Banquet”
Southwestern Suburban Symphony
June date and location TBD
Our area’s newest orchestra presents a feast for the ears by way of some of the timeless music of the great Leonard Bernstein. As Southwestern Suburban Symphony artistic director and conductor Christine Flasch explains, the concert includes “symphonic dances and [a] concert suite from West Side Story [that] will feature all of the great hits from this brilliant work, including two vocal soloists and a guest appearance by leading solo dancers from the Milwaukee Ballet in the roles of Tony and Maria.” Additional works will be from Candide, Mass, On the Town and other Bernstein classics.
