College Endowment Lecture to feature Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist Steve Twomey

The College Endowment Association’s Subscription Lecture Series presents “Countdown to Pearl Harbor – Twelve Days to Attack”, a lecture by author and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Steve Twomey on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin, 813 E. Kilbourn Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Steve Twomey, who is the author of Countdown to Pearl Harbor - Twelve Days to Attack, will speak on the days leading up to Pearl Harbor and what transpired that could have prevented the disaster. After his presentation, he will be available to sign his book which will also be for sale.
Twomey began his career in journalism as a copyboy at the Chicago Tribune when he was in high school. After graduating from Northwestern University, he began a fourteen-year career at The Philadelphia Inquirer, during which he won the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. After that, he worked at The Washington Post for thirteen years. More recently, he has written for Smithsonian and other magazines and has taught narrative writing at the graduate schools of New York University and the City University of New York. He was also the ghost writer of What I Learned When I Almost Died. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey.
This very special lecture is part of the College Endowment Association’s 2018 – 2019 Subscription Lecture Series which is open to men and women throughout the Greater Milwaukee area. It meets weekly on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 am from October through February (except for a few weeks in December).

Dues to join the College Endowment Association, a 501 C (3) non-profit educational organization, which includes admission to their Subscription Lecture Series and provides scholarships to women at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, the Milwaukee School of Art and Design, Lawrence University, the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, are $70.00 per person.
