Fall in Love with Orchids - show and sale

Thousands of Flowering Orchids to Fill The Domes, Sept. 15-16

For two days only, the Mitchell Park Domes in partnership with the Wisconsin Orchid Society will present Fall in Love with Orchids, a show and sale now in its 39th year. Filling the Show Dome and sales area with thousands of flowering orchids, the event will run Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sept. 16 from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Mitchell Park Domes, 524 S. Layton Blvd.

Displaying plants will be Midwestern orchid societies, local growers, and vendors. Orchid experts will answer questions, give demonstrations, and provide information on Wisconsin’s native orchids and their conservation. At 3 p.m. both days, the demonstration topic will be corsage making, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the demonstration will be focused on potting orchids. The Wisconsin Orchid Society will offer free plant culture sheets and a free three-month subscription to its monthly e-newsletter.

Admission to the show is free with regular Domes admission. Domes admission fees range from $5 to $8. When presenting IDs for proof of status, Milwaukee County residents, students of all ages, and people with disabilities receive discounted admission. Children age 5 and under are admitted free. No food or beverage carry-ins.
