Fiber Arts in the Digital Age
Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts N50 W5050 Portland Road, Cedarburg, Wisconsin 53012
The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA) is pleased to present Fiber Arts in the Digital Age through January 13, 2019. The exhibit, produced by WMQFA curatorial staff, features fifteen artists from across the United States and the UK.
Living in the digital age means individuals are increasingly able to do what was previously considered unimaginable. Textiles and fiber art have a rich history of embracing innovation and its many aspects to further artistry. From artists designing their work via software to the benefits of accessibility where an individual can order small batches of their artwork digitally printed on textiles, technology has brought us an amazing array of opportunities and advancements. The artists in this exhibition are using digital tools to create and interpret their experiences. This use of technology to create art would not have been possible even a handful of years ago.
