Kettle Moraine Symphony Presents a Family Concert: Star Wars and Scheherazade on September 30

WEST BEND (September15, 2018)

Kettle Moraine Symphony is celebrating its 50^th Anniversary Season, which opens with a concert for the whole family. Kids (and adults) are invited to come dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters and experience the familiar Star Wars themes performed live. Then, the kids depart for a kids-only musical activity, while the parents enjoy the wiles of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and her tales from 1001 nights.

The “Play Me a Story” event begins at 2:00 p.m. with the ever popular pre-concert talk by Dr. Peter Gibeau, University of Wisconsin-Washington County music professor and KMS principal bassist.

From 2:30 until 3:00 guests will see and hear student musicians up-close, as the Schauer Youth String Orchestra, Silverbrook Strings, and West Bend HS Chamber Orchestra perform in the lobby.

KMS is excited to be holding this event in the wonderful Performing Arts Center at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, 3399 Division Rd., Jackson.
