Many new faces will be among the 85 artists and vendors at the Firefly Art Fair on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 4 and 5, in the Victorian-style gardens at the Kneeland-Walker House, 7406 Hillcrest Dr. Wauwatosa. The 32nd annual fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
As the nation celebrates the end of World War I 100 years ago, an educational exhibit inside the mansion, “Tosa Goes to War,” will help visitors learn about many aspects of wartime life in Wauwatosa. Footage of troops in Europe and propaganda films by Charlie Chaplin will run each hour. The indoor exhibit opens at 11 a.m.
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Print Club will provide kids’ activities from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Kids will be able to screen-print a T-shirt.
This year, on-site grilling is back with butter burgers, brats, hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches, along with homemade pies, brownies and Sprecher root beer floats. Visitors can enjoy food and beverages in a new picnic area in the garden, enjoying live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
