Sensoria: Experiments in Sound and Performance presents Convergence, featuring electroacoustic improvisers Christopher Burns, Nicholas Elert, Warren Enström, Amanda Schoofs, and C. Olivia Valenza, in an evening length concert of spontaneous music and transdisciplinary improvisation practices.
This year Sensoria celebrates its fifth season with three innovative concerts featuring the Legacy of the ElectroAcoustic Music Center at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee's, Peck School of the Arts. Founded by Jon Welstead in 1982, the EAMC supports the creation of new electroacoustic works and technologies, facilitating a broad range of activities including composing new music, electronic and electroacoustic improvisation and performance, instrument design and development, hybrid practices, and multimedia collaboration. In celebration of the ElectroAcoustic Music Center's dynamic history, and its founder's retirement, this season will showcase cutting-edge works produced by musicians intimately affiliated with EAMC.
