The Milwaukee Rock Theatre will be holding auditions for its fall production, Drakula the Rock Opera, Tuesday and Thursday, August 28 and 30, at the Hart Park Senior Center in Wauwatosa. Drakula the Rock Opera is based on the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. It is written and composed by the MRT Artistic Director Don Linke. Drakula has been performed five times in four different countries and received positive reviews. More information about Drakula and the upcoming auditions can be found below.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
There are 7 roles for men age 16-60+. There are 6 roles for women age 16-60+.
WHAT TO BRING:
No appointment is necessary. Those auditioning should prepare a song and bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided.

Drakula is written and composed by the MRT Artistic Director Don Linke. The show has been performed five times in four different countries and received positive reviews. SYNOPSIS
Drakula the Rock Opera is based on the novel Dracula, by Bram Stoker. A young solicitor from England, Jonathan Harker, travels to Transylvania to arrange for the sale of property to a most strange and imposing Count Drakula. After acuiring the property, Drakula travels to England, where he preys upon the young Lucy, and courts his wife from a past life, Mina. Friends and lovers unite and are led by the venerable Dr. Van Helsing to thwart the advances of Count Drakula.
Cast of Characters:
Male:
DRAKULA, a Vampire and Count of Transylvania who arranges to move to England where he wrecks havoc and searches for Mina, his long lost wife. Age Range: mature teen or 20-50.
JONATHAN, a young attorney, engaged to Mina, who travels from England to Transylvania to arrange for the transfer of property to Count Drakula. Age Range: Mature teen or 20-40.
DR. SEWARD, head of the local insane asylum, who is a suitor to Lucy. Age Range: 20-40.
ARTHUR, Lucy’s first love who she ultimately chooses as her mate. Age Range: 20-40.
QUINCEY, American cowboy who is a suitor to Lucy. Age Range: 16-40.
RENFIELD, insane patient of Dr. Seward. Age Range: 16-60.
DR. VAN HELSING, venerable authority on vampires who seeks to protect Lucy and Mina from Drakula’s advances. Age Range: mature 30s or 40-70.
Female:
MINA, a young woman, engaged to Jonathan and best friends to Lucy, who is wooed by Drakula to return with him to Transylvania. Age Range: mature teen or 20-30.
LUCY, best friends to Mina, and courted by three suitors. She is preyed upon by Drakula and evolves into a vampire. Age Range: mature teen or 20-30.
VAMPIRESSES (3), voluptuous female vampires who prey upon Jonathan. Age Range: 16-40.
NARRATOR, lead and backup vocalist who sings the title song “He is Drakula.” Age Range: 16-60+.
