Oh I was SOOO overexcited early this season. I took every loss to heart and the ups and downs were exhausting. I have made a conscious effort since then to not get too wrapped up in every detail, hit and win. I'm trying to stay even-keeled and see this team for what it is. I try not to be too harsh or critical, but I'm also not going to follow the management blindly. I think it's SO easy to get carried away and this is such a long season. I really was too far gone too quickly - it was a good lesson and I've spent the rest of the season trying to keep a reasonable distance.

Nicole, I agree with almost everything you've stated. I agree that Skaalen should be under fire, and I hadn't really thought of that.. probably because I'm always so angry at Yost. I know that Yost makes a lot of "questionable" decisions and some of them just down right dumb, and at the same time I don't think he is a terrible coach. But I really would like to see what this team would be like under different leadership, and I hope that happens for next season. As for Hart, I think you are just a little too hard on him. He's still been hitting ok, and doing his job in the outfield for the most part. I do agree that he doesn't look like the same guy he was before the all star break. I think he'll come back around real soon though, probably in this series against Atlanta. Go Brewers!!!!!

I think Nicole did an excellent job of voicing everyone's frustrations here.

I'm trying my hardest not to get too upset about this last series—it's still been an expectations-defying season so far, and four miserable games aren't going to change that.

What the series did do, though, was set realistic expectations for the rest of the season. I know that at least for me, I was getting so far ahead of myself with excitement that I was acting like we'd already made the playoffs. This week was a reminder that we still have months left in the season, and they're likely to be very long months.
