Protesters Carried Cages During a March to Sen. Johnson’s Office Friday

Around 100 protesters called on Sen. Ron Johnson to do more regarding the current crisis at the border Friday.

A group of approximately 100 protesters marched to the office of U.S. Senator Ron Johnson Friday morning in attempts to prod the senator to take action regarding the current crisis at the border. However, when protesters and members of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) made it to his office, they were greeted by just one member of Sen. Johnson’s staff.

Sen. Johnson is Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, and LULAC is calling on him to find a solution regarding children being held in detention centers at the border. LULAC is holding their national convention in Milwaukee this week.

“We hope the American public will tell Senator Johnson that it's time that they find a bipartisan positive solution, instead of just pandering to the right wing with hate mongering and immigrant bashing,” said LULAC president Domingo Garcia.

The march started at the Wisconsin Center, and made its way to the Milwaukee Federal Building on Wisconsin Ave. When the marchers made it to the building, only seven representatives were let inside by security. Photos were also prohibited inside of the building, and press were not allowed to enter as well.

Andres Rodriguez, National Vice President for Young Adults, said LULAC sent a letter to Sen. Johnson’s office on July 2nd, informing him of the convention and their intentions to meet with him regarding the border. Staff from Sen. Johnson’s Washington D.C. office confirmed that Sen. Johnson flew with President Donald Trump to Milwaukee Friday. President Trump is in Milwaukee for a fundraiser.

“We see clearly where his attention is,” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said LULAC leaders will continue to pressure Johnson and his staff to meet with him regarding this issue.

Ron Johnson, Donald Trump, 2 peas in a "white Capitalist" pod

Both of these men are true "Capitalists", of the business owning kind. They both know that it is the owner that has the most skin in the game and therefore deserves all credit and recognition and all the profits of their business activity. The employees, the customers, even the suppliers they get their raw materials and supplies from are nothing but "accounting costs" in their books. These men use market differences to their own advantage, and they strategically choose their business choices to make sure they stay in control of all 3.

We all know Ron Johnson took advantage of incarcerated convicts and government-funded "corporate welfare" to supply labor in his factory. This blocked law abiding, non-criminal workers from jobs in his factory. I suspect he did this because the package deal was lower cost to him then paying the local wage he would have otherwise needed to pay. I also suspect there would be no need to provide health insurance for these workers, they were getting this paid for by the tax payers whose dollars were allocated to the prison system. There may even be no need to collect IRS income tax, Wisconsin state income tax, nor any FICA Social Security & Medicare tax.

Our US Constitution allows slavery of prisoners.

I suspect that is also why so many employers would rather use temps and contract workers instead of putting them on direct payroll, keeps them from having to adhere to rules by the US Department of Labor. I am sure the prison worker was just like another "contract worker"... and government subsidized at that.

Here is what I would say about almost any corporate leader... They all know they have protected "rights" and "freedoms" of an American Citizen. Back in the old days, only the "land-owner" had a right to vote, they would keep it that way. Minor land assignees and tenants who were on that owner's land had no vote, their only rights would have been by simple common decency, nothing extra enforced by an "owner controlled" government.

I would also go on to what a white nationalist would believe... non-whites should neither have a vote nor have "citizenship", and therefore have no rights and freedoms.

That does not mean these "non-citizens" should not be here, it could mean the citizen should be able to use these people for anything they want. "Indentured Servant" was how some "working class" people first came here. Supposedly it was 7 years as a "tenant" servant, working for the landed owner until freedom was earned.... except so many died before that 7 years was up. Up to 7 years of no voting rights... and if they survived, how many found themselves still on that owner's land as a tenant? Still no voting rights if you did not personally own 50 acres or more.

I think Republicans are split... their 51% split has a top 1% who own and run America's businesses, they need "cash-only" workers with no rights or registration.

And the 50% "working Middle class" do not want these people taking their jobs.
