The holiday season is going to kick off Thanksgiving week this year at the Tripoli Shrine Center with the 1st Annual FEZtival of Trees.
Visiting the Shrine is quite an experience on its own, with its beautiful dome, intricate mosaic tiles, exquisite windows and magnificent staircase. Once inside this stunning building there is no doubt as to why it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The FEZtival of Trees is beginning this year as a fundraiser to keep this majestic building in operation, in order for its Nobles and Lady’s to continue their work of helping kids.
The object of the FEZtival is to have organizations and businesses donate fully-decorated artificial trees that will be displayed through-out the event. The public is invited to come and see the extravaganza of trees as well as some Christmas themed special displays. A large candy cane is available at each tree and purchased raffle tickets are deposited into the candy cane. At the end of the event a winner will be drawn from each tree. The person whose name is drawn gets to take the tree home as well as all the decorations and gifts included by the sponsor of that tree.

The theme for this year’s FEZtival is, “Candy Land”. And what better place to get lost in an enchanted fantasy with Santa and his Elves than at the Tripoli Shrine Center. Christmas trees, enormous candy in abundance and visions of the holidays will transform many of these historical rooms and hallways into a sweet dreamland.
In addition to the magnificent trees and décor, there will be a Lottery Tree decorated with $500 worth of lottery tickets and a 50-50 raffle. Each item to be awarded to one lucky winner at the end of the FEZtival run.
The aroma of popcorn and daily luncheon and dinner specials will lead you straight to the food café.
Santa will be taking time out from his busy schedule for the entire week to listen to children’s hopes for Christmas and photos with the white-haired wonder will be available as well. A “Fishing Pond” will be open for the season to reel in toys and treats for the little ones.
