I am Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown.

I work with a phenomenal team at Milwaukee Downtown, BID 21. We are focused on efforts to continually connect our community and to provide an environment that will add to the value of downtown as a place for everyone. The pandemic has been challenging but we hope that our efforts to bring elements of surprise and delight to our community through public art and activation have provided some room for joy and levity. 

I have personally experienced the joy and levity of supporting Milwaukee arts in many ways.  Art has a way of peeling open the soul. I was raised in this city that I love and I feel fortunate for the various chapters of my life be they joyful, content, inspirational and sometimes even painful. It has been a beautiful thing to watch the evolution of art in Milwaukee, especially public art. Art that is accessible, art that tells a story, art that prompts engagement and creativity, art that supports ... well, artists.
