Laughlin is a child survivor of the Warsaw ghetto, theUprising, and concentration camps. After retiring from a long career inteaching, she has continued to write and lecture about her experiences,publishing her memoir, Transcending Darkness: A Girl’s Journey Out of theHolocaust, in 2012. She hopes that hearing her story will show listeners thatcourage and love shine through human beings even in the darkest of times.
