Violence is the only solution acceptable to some

How many of you get so mad you have to "go out and kill something," after all, it is November, this is gun deer season coming up.

It's also the General Election in November, what inspires hidden anger more?

How many of you have seen problem children and you are trying to teach them to "use your words instead of hitting people" when you don't like something?

That's where we are today. The levels of frustration are so strong that some of us see little other choice of getting relief from our problems... problems coping with a world that fails to accept their opinions, problems making ends meet in an economy that pays less to a worker than what their work is worth. It's been a downhill slide since the 1970's, until by 2008 it reduced them to levels almost as low as the 1930's.

Now, those if us who learned to use words and rhetoric are quick to label these people as perpetual hardened criminals, or at least we cannot "listen" to them and help them put aside their fears and other anger triggers. As a result, they also were as voiceless and ignored as the classic "minority" was.

Some of our politicians have called them "deplorables."

Trump won the 2016 election because these people who do not express themselves in words also cannot be measured in the polls. Trump has been the first politician in a long time to give credit and value to these people, he has "validated" there opinions and feelings as being acceptable.

That is all they ever wanted, to feel like they are listened to and have a useful place in America, they are finally getting their day on the "good side." A chance to "Make America Great Again" in a way that made sense to them, in natural isolation from people they cannot deal with. Short of the natural and social barriers, guns and violence are seen as the only way to get back to this.

People like my ultra-Conservative father would never likely pick up a gun and shoot someone back in his adult days of the 1950's until 2010, but after Obama becoming president, his attitude changed. I accompanied him on a visit to a gun store along the way, he is a firm believer in the Florida style "Stand your ground" laws, and when his city extended the bus lines out to his neighborhood, he felt a need to buy a handgun, all due to the color of who was getting off that bus.

The gun store clerk talked him out of it, explaining the consequences of acting on his impulses and how the courts have a far different opinion of self-defense than what we all grew up with watching our cowboys and Indians or cops and robbers shows.

My what a surprise. Never would have guessed a left wing publication would have done anything else. Obviously you don't believe in a split ticket.

Left hates right, right hates left

Yes, the Shepherd is basically left wing.

This level of political hate is about ELIMINATION of the opposition... even to the starvation death is acceptable to many (on both sides.)

I remember an old 60s protest song that sang "Tax the rich, feed the poor, until there are no RICH no more." I hated that they left out the option of "until there are no POOR no more." It said the goal was to eliminate their enemy, not turn them into compliant believers. I couldn't deal with that.

Ever since Obama got elected, that taught the common white voter that the minority black vote really does have enough power to turn an election when white people are split between left and right instead of pure white as a voting block. These same people failed to accept that there had to be an even higher number of white voters voting for Obama than the total count of black voters in this country, blacks are still less than 1/6 of the US population, they do not outnumber conservative whites by any means, they had more white help than any other demographic in putting Obama in the Oval Office.

That was also the day I heard some coworkers demand to know what side of the fence I was on, that it simply is not allowed to be moderate and in the middle, simply not kosher to be splitting your vote. They may as well make Wisconsin a state that requires a voter to declare a party for the right to vote in a primary and require voting straight party in the November or April general. Many states did that.
