Five female veterinarians and one "token male" (a tech) staff this clinic devoted to caring for small critters such as cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets and a few birds. (But no reptiles, sorry.) The clinic has its roots in Old World Milwaukee, when its forerunner on Brady Street took care of the city’s service animals, including the horses that made the streetcars, buggies and milk carts move. The clinic moved to Farwell Avenue in the 1920s, then got a new lease on life in 2004, when it moved to its current spacious and friendly digs. (L.K.)
