Like Route 15, the 10 covers a large swath of the Milwaukee area—and the destinations from end to end are worth the journey. Moreover, while much of the 15's route covers the suburbs, the long east-west sweep of the 10 shows riders an interesting cross-section of Milwaukee proper on one of our oldest avenues.
The 10's northeastern end is Bayshore Town Center, and the route passes through many of the same neighborhoods as the 15 in its initial southward jaunt. But then it runs parallel to lovely Estabrook Park, perfect for biking or walking. After crossing the Milwaukee River at Capitol Drive, the bus continues south on Humboldt Avenue, passing a small hub of stores and bars near Humboldt and Locust in the Riverwest neighborhood before reaching the East Side and its well-stocked Pick 'n Save (2220 N. Humboldt Ave.).
Before hitting Downtown, the 10 approaches an inviting Irish bar and restaurant, County Clare (1234 N. Astor St.), a welcoming, Emerald Isle-style place for brunch, dinner or drinks.
The first major Downtown landmark is the Milwaukee Art Museum (700 N. Art Museum Drive), home to an extensive, internationally respected art collection. World-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava designed the museum's iconic Quadracci Pavilion. You can check out the permanent galleries for free on the first Thursday of each month.

Continuing west on Wisconsin Avenue, there are numerous restaurants and shops, including Alem Ethiopian Village (307 E. Wisconsin Ave.), one of the city's most unique dining experiences, and Mo's Irish Pub (142 W. Wisconsin Ave.), a cheery tavern with music you can often hear from blocks away.
For shopping needs, check out the Shops of Grand Avenue (275 W. Wisconsin Ave.), home to T.J. Maxx and Boston Store, among others. Need a break from the world of retail? The RiverWalk offers a pretty, outdoor view of the Downtown bustle and, of course, the river itself.
Next on the 10 Route, Marquette University spans 10th to 20th streets. Wander the beautiful grounds or stop for coffee at the Alumni Memorial Union's Brew Bayou (1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.).
As the bus route moves further west and the settings begin to look more and more suburban, we pass the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (9000 W. Wisconsin Ave.), the popular Mexican restaurant La Fuente (9155 W. Bluemound Road) and the Milwaukee County Zoo (10001 W. Bluemound Road), which makes for a fun day trip no matter how old you are.
The end of the line is Brookfield Square Mall (95 N. Moorland Road), an extensive, attractive shopping center with stores like Sears and Windsor (the place to be, ladies, if you're looking for a formal dress!).
