On June 27, 2015, at least 10,000 people will line the streets of Milwaukee’s east side for the pro men’s and women’s criterium in the ISCorp Downer Classic. The biggest draw—besides the race—is the Ben’s Cycle Super Prime party that brings nearly one thousand people to the corner of Hackett and Park.
Since there are amateur races throughout the day, sponsoring the event is a great way to have your message or product in front of thousands of people.
The Downer Classic has been a staple of the East Side for many years and the Ben’s Cycle Super Prime* and accompanying party have raised many thousands of dollars to award the winners of one lap in both the men’s and women’s professional races. The Prime Party takes over most of Hackett Street with music, food, beverages and a lot of noise. Hundreds of people pay $25 for a ticket to the party and thousands more watch the race.
The Super Prime began back in 2003 with a case of beer given to the winner of a chosen lap. That case of beer grew to a crowd-funded prime. By 2007, the Super Prime was endorsed by the race organizers as an official part of the Downer Classic.

This year, we have created Super Prime Sponsorship Opportunities for businesses wanting to not only get a name or product in the public eye, but also to reward and celebrate staff success. You can use the experience to reward staff as a staff outing or to entertain clients.
As the women’s professional race continues to grow in size and stature, the sponsorship money will go to providing an equal one-lap prize for both men and women, bringing historic equity for women’s racing. The more we raise, the bigger the prime for both races.
*A prime is a prize awarded to the winner of a single lap. Race organizers use primes to motivate riders and create opportunities to win cash or prizes within the race.
Sponsorship Levels
Inner Tube: $500
- Sponsor name or product on large banner at party
- 10 free tickets to party (food, drink, commemorative t-shirt)
- Sponsor name or product on website, blog, social media
- Opportunity to display your product/service all day during the races
Wheel: $1,000
- Everything in Inner Tube level
- A total of 20 free tickets
- Employees meet male and female prime winners with photo opportunity
- Group commentary from former racers on race tactics and race information
Bike Frame: $1,500
- Everything in Wheel level
- A total of 25 tickets to the party
- One sponsor employee can stand on platform to ring bell for prime and watch as riders speed to prime finish
Complete Bike: $2,500
- Everything in Bike Frame level
- A total of 30 tickets to the party
- Five $100 Ben’s Cycle gift cards to raffle off to business employees
- One employee can ride in the pace car at the front of the race for at least one lap
- One employee can ride in the coveted and amazing Ben’s Cycle Tricycle Race
