Lyme Awareness MKE: Under Our Skin

Downer Theatre 2589 N Downer Ave Milwaukee, WI 53211, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53211

May 22, 2017

midnight

Event time: 7:00pm-8:30pm

Please join me for the exclusive, one-night only, viewing of the highly awarded documentary UNDER OUR SKIN: the untold story of Lyme disease.

May is Lyme Awareness month, and my mission is to share the very raw and shocking truth behind Lyme disease and coinfections. I suffered over a decade before being correctly diagnosed in June of 2016. I'm disabled at the age of 37, and after 11 months of aggressive treatment I'm about 25% better but still unable to drive or work. It's important for our community to see this film so we can help spread Lyme disease awareness, prevention tips, and treatment options.

The first 80 people through the doors will get a free Lyme Slayer or F*ck Lyme pin!

*Tickets are only available through www.tugg.com/events/under-our-skin*

Tickets ARE NOT available at the Downer as this is a special event brought to our city by my request and through Tugg.com.*

Description:
"Under Our Skin is a powerful and often terrifying look not only at the science and politics of the disease, but also the personal stories of those whose lives have been affected and nearly destroyed. From a few brave doctors who risk their medical licenses, to patients who once led active lives but now can barely walk, the film uncovers a hidden world that will astound viewers. While exposing a broken healthcare and medical research system, the film also gives voice to those who believe that instead of a crisis, Lyme is simply a 'disease de jour,' over diagnosed and contributing to another crisis: the looming resistance of microbes and ineffectuality of antibiotics."
