Tucked amid the foothills of Nepal is the Tibetan Buddhist nunnery where much of this documentary is filmed. Daughters of Dolma looks into the lives of a new generation of nuns trying to square a spiritual search circumscribed by ritual with Facebook, cell phones and consumer culture. With the Dali Lama’s proclamation that woman are no less able to achieve enlightenment than men, the nuns of Dolma are grappling with new spirits in an ancient tradition.
