Live 1962-1966 is drawn mostly from previously issued entries in a series documenting the Bob Dylan music once sought by bootleg LP collectors. Most of the two-disc set features Dylan solo— with raw vocals, uncooked acoustic guitar and wheezing harmonica as he performs a brace of familiar songs such as “It’s Alright, Ma,” “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Masters of War” in a variety of storied venues in the U.S. and U.K. A few of the tracks are pulled from legendary performances, including the 1964 Newport Folk Festival and 1965 Royal Albert Hall concert featuring the nucleus of the band that became known as The Band. The rollicking rock of the latter is worth the purchase price.
