"Play 'Holocene!'" a frenzied, lighters-waving crowd will roar when Bon Iver plays Summerfest next year. "Play 'Holocene!'" Justin Vernon's iconic folky/experimental band will return to Milwaukee to play the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on Saturday, June 29, the festival announced this morning.
It'll be the first time the band has headlined Summerfest, and "their only Wisconsin show of the summer," according to the festival. Vernon last played Milwaukee in February, at a beautiful For Emma, Forever Ago anniversary show.
He'll be in good company: Lord Huron and Julien Baker will open.
Tickets go on sale on sale Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at Summerfest.com and Ticketmaster.com and include admission to Summerfest. There will be a presale on Wednesday, Dec. 12, starting at 10 a.m. through boniver.org/me.
