Setting out in 2002 from the gallows of poverty and substance abuse, the screamy alternative hard-rock band The Used has now amassed a library of four albums, several EPs and live tracks all dedicated to suffering. The group’s latest record, last year’s Artwork, is its most brutal yet. The cover depicts an oversized metal syringe marked “ART" being injected into an arm with the word “WORK” carved into it, and its opening track, “Blood on My Hands,” works itself into an arena- rock chant about the band’s obligation to suffer for their craft.

The Used are a group of arrogant, snotty brats...who use the "tortured-artist" thing to excuse their boorish behavior. It's a shame Atreyu had to open for them. Atreyu does it right!

Atreyu embarrassed The Used with their showmanship. I cannot believe I paid to be possibly assaulted in the crowd. I watched the lead singer, Bert Mccracken, spit on, throw a lit cigarette on and instruct a young crowd to not help people who fell down during the concert, but to kick them while they were down. What kind of person do you have to be to think that anyone would enjoy you spitting on them, Bert must be seriously delusional. Matter of fact, I wish I would have called the police because I am pretty sure it's assault when you throw lit cigarettes at people and spit on them.
