It’s nice to see that a steady series of locally-written shows continuing to make it to the stage. Alchemist’s New York Stories series may be the most prominent of locally-written productions. One of those locally-written pieces that might not get as much attention is a new show appearing with Morning Star Productions next month.
Written by Milwaukee-based Lisa Buethe, Cabin Fever sounds kind of like a Christian version of Escanaba in da Moonlight. A group of men go up to a cabin somewhere in northern or northeastern Wisconsin. They’re fishing. Everyone in the group has brought different baggage. There are lessons to be learned in the woods in a comedy that sounds like it has quite a bit of depth to it.
Morning Star Productions’ Cabin Fever runs April 17-26 at MSP's home on 5385 N. Green Bay Ave. For more information, visit morningstarproductions.org.
